Meet Gina
Gina was born and raised in Lake County, the only girl in a busy family with three brothers. Her father was a proud member of Millwright Local 1693 and her mother ran their family restaurant, Vito’s Pizza in Waukegan. Through her parents, Gina learned at a young age the importance of working hard while serving the community.
Currently, Gina lives in Beach Park with Douglas Roberts, her husband of 30 years. They have two children, Joseph, a 2020 political science graduate of The Ohio State University, and Anne Marie, majoring in early childhood education at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Gina has been active in our community for years, serving on the Parent Teacher Association and parent networks in the local schools. In 2017, she was elected to the Zion-Benton Township High School District 126 School Board, where she served as the Secretary of the board.
Gina ran for school board because she saw first-hand that parents and teachers needed a voice in the decisions that affect our children and our community. In her tenure, the board managed within their means – with no referendums and no deficits – protecting the pocketbooks of taxpayers while providing great educational opportunities for students.
While on the Lake County Board, Gina has been a champion for our community. She has worked to hold the line on property taxes, implement historic investments into our community’s infrastructure, and support the health of our community.
My Priorities
“I continue to be passionate for community service on the Lake County Board, where I have been our community’s advocate for fiscal responsibility, economic growth and investment in infrastructure. I promise to continue to be a strong voice for you and our community.”
